I am campaigning as a Libertarian for the office of the 45th President of the USA.  Since my background is working poor, and well educated, I may be the best person for this job for the next 8 years.

Planks in my platform include fresh water, food, and energy security.  I am a big supporter of trade but dependancy on another country for our food and fuel IS NOT, a good thing.  So I want to put some 2,000,000 + federal workesr to work solving our problems and ensuring our future,  As for Congress and the Senate  I want them to go from law writng to problem solving.  Even getting rid of mammoth amounts of legislation.   Many laws are not needed.  Our courts have too many cases totry, the VA is too small for the demand of medical services from our former military members.  There are solutions for all of these things..

wild fires and acting Presidential

"Wild fires have been increasing in frequency and ferocity."
Mens Journal August 2014

This is a truth. As a person desiring to campaign for the US Presidency for the years 2016-2024,
This one of many things I would like to address.  My slogn "Not Politics as Usual", means even though dirt may be slung my way, I intend to shower off.  Part of me says that campaigning for US President should be a popularity race.  The only one I have to be popular with is "The Electorate".
But awiser partof me says A United States President has to havegood leadership.  Even though truthfully As US President I will have lots of people telling me what to do.  On the issue of wildfires, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."  From 1993-2013 the cost of battling wild fires has gone from $240,000,000 to $1,800,000,000.  This is huge. Being an environmental and social activist means I like to be out in the woods camping out.  I have done this a lot. As a libertarian I enjoy my freedoms. When out camping in a woodland  I usually build 'Fire pits' instead of open camp fires. The difference is that a fire pit is a hole with rocks surrounding it and oftentimes a metal grating on top. This help reduce the spread of fire in case of wind.  But if I were to build a home like the many millions of Americans have in a so called "wooey", (woodland urban interface),  "Men's Journal, August 2014."  I would definitely take steps to keep my property from being kindling. Such as having a tin roof instead of wood or tar shingle roof.  I would probably have a chain link or stone work fence as well.  These two things  are a good start.  These are just acouple of things that ought to be done to inhibit the spread of  a potential wild fire.
The state of New Mexico has done a lot of things to reduce therisk of future wildfires, I imagine if California asked, New Mexico would gladly help them with techniques and laws  they use to minimize  or prevent wildfires.  Aswell as showing whatcanbe done to helpreseedburnt out lands.

Steven Childs for US President

I want to get something out there that is on my mind.  Earlier in 2012 I remember seeing all of these people on TV crying about how America wants to punish the reich people by raising their taxes. Some of these people crying the loudest were our elected (I say this loosely) representatives.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THIS BRIEFLY.

In the USA today the upper 20% income earners are in control of 80% of Americas wealth.  This is like 2 people having 80 cents to share.  This is opposed to the bulk of Americas work force.
With us (Me Too), This is like 8 people fighting over 20 cents.
In all practical terms the only people with the financial wherewithal to pay down America's debts are the top 20% of American's controlling 80 cents of every dollar in the American economy.

I would support a straight across flat tax for individuals, and businesses something akin to 15% of gross income for all federal, State, and Local taxes.  Said differently if your earn $50,000 a year income, you pay $3,500 as your entire medical (health care) and tax debt. By the same token if your income is $1,000,000 per year then your total medical (health care) and tax burden should be $150,000.
think about this briefly today in America your incorporated business earns $1.00 profit.
Post taxes you now have 50 cents to pay your employees and service your debt, grow your business etcetera. Your employees get $1.00 pre-taxable income.  They make say $1.00.
Their post tax income and benefits package leaves them say 70 cents.
with this 70 cents they pay 35 cents for housing. Now your employees have only 35 cents
left to live on and many places have a sales tax too say about 8 cents on the dollar.  This
means your employees really have a spendable income of only 27 cents left on every dollar they earn.  See the picture.  The economic gulf between the uber-wealthy, the wealthy, and everybody else has become a huge chasm.  I was raised in the 60's and 70's.  It took America 150 years to have a "Nuclear Family" or strong middle class.  It took 20 years to destroy the idea.
Said another way a man could raise his family on his income as the sole provider in the late 50's until the 80's.
In the 70's women chose to enter the work force to be able to let their families have a little fun.
By doing things like going out to eat and visit Disneyland.
In the 80's women had to get a job.
Today families are fractured.  I could argue that this is because Many American have to work
more than 1 job just to get by.

Life in America was not meant to be this way.
