Americas Energy Future Deuce

Back to natural gas.  The Obama administration is fully aware of the importance of securing our energy future. 
America now has a lot on natural gas available and we can make more just by using 'Waste Digesters' to capture more 'methane'.  This being the predominant gas in natural gas.  The gas does not smell in the waste digesters, the waste being worked on by beneficial bacterium is what smells, well ,like flatulence!   (I thought you would get a laugh out of this.)

Here is what is happening today.  Some of our elected representatives want to sell our natural gas to foreign countries in the form of LNG.  Okay we all like money, but... (You knew this was coming, didn't you')
We can encourage our state and federal representatives too work together.  We can communicate our desires so that our States as well as The FED will work  to initiate a National program of developing the infrastructure needed to support using natural gas as a transportation fuel.
This would also be a pretty darn good US Economic Stimulus Package.  This as well as an intrastate MAG-Lev train system. (More about this later, jobs anyone?)
This  is kind of what my business unit "Renewable Energy Solutions"  (TM),  has been trying to do. 

 As an ecosattav my primary motivation is healing the grievous wounds we have given our planet.  This followed by the understanding that man can work in harmony with nature so that many of our wants and needs can be provided for in and environmentally responsible, socially conscience and get this sustainable way.

Eating to melt bodyfat.

This is for all of you men and women who want to 'Look Good Naked'.  Most fresh fruits and vegetables and even the stuff in cans requires more calories to digest than they give you in nutrients.  This is why Grandma always said "Eat you ruffage".  In modern times this would be the fiber found in many plants.

This is why eating  more fresh fruits and vegetables (Canned stuff works too) seems to "melt bodyfat".

If I forgot to mention ice cream is low on the glycemic index if it is the good premium stuff with all of the calories and cream that make ice cream a heavenly treat.  This is because of the fats used to make it.  These fats (creams) slow-w-w down the digestion of the carbohydrates. 
Remember fats and carbohydrates are not your enemy.  The enemy is more calories consumed than expended.  So be sure to move that body of yours.

Are you growing older?  I am.  So to be more active get up and move. 

Next I will give you the SECRET to enjoying 'grapefruit'.

Todays recipe is 'Egg plant Casserole'.
Peel and dice 1 or 2 eggplants.
 Boil in slightly salty water until the eggplant appears darker and more tranlucent.
Drain thoroughly.
Make crumbs with saltine crackers or bread. Put in bowl.
 Add 1 large egg or two medium ones. Mix in bowl with cooked eggplant.
Add shredded cheese.  Mix thoroughly.  Bake in oven safe dish for enough time to melt that gooey and delicious cheese.  Serve fresh.  A properly baked egg plant casserole will slice like a cake or pie.

look good naked (Macros' with Steve)

I begin this  by bringing up something.  All of the macronutrients are often identified by calories in grams.
But what does this mean to you?  How about instead of saying alcohol gives you 7 calories a gram I say alcohol gives you 196 calories per ounce.  Now by the ounce you better understand the energy value of food.  I am also using the knowledge that 28 grams = one ounce.

So lets get cooking  Fats are not your enemy.  This is because fats are used to make all the hormones your body needs to work good, such as testosterone. 
Fats weigh in at 252 calories an ounce.  These are concentrated nutrients to keep you warm in the winter.

Alcohol is next at196 calories an ounce,  ( I do not like light beers since the only way to reduce calories is to reduce alcohol content.)  What is the point of drinking some beer other than to get buzzed? So when you buy light beer, GOOD for the brewer but BAD for you since you are paying more money for 'water'.

Proteins weigh in a only 112 calories an ounce.  Proteins are used by the body for muscle tissues and veins, and arteries, rocovering from injuries,  This is because proteins are made of amino acids which are the building blocks for bodies.

Also carbohydrates weigh in at 112 calories an ounce. Carbohydrates are important since they are the first choice for energy. What makes me go hmmm is that in a healthy individual their 3 pound brain burns 35% of the carbohydrates they consume.   Calories not carbohydrates are what determines our bodies fat stores and even energy demands.  Due to 'Glucogenesis' anything we eat in excess may be stored as fat .

Vitamins are a lot like spark plugs in that they are reused to lock and unlock food molecules so that your body can digest the foods you consume.
Minerals such as iron in our blood that allows our blood to carry oxygen I can understand.  I think mineral are more like the chemist's regents in that they aide in creating a myriad of chemical reactions.

a little bit about food

Okay so you want to 'look good naked'.  Did you get your food journal?   Here is the plan for planning your meals.

Take a dinner plate.  If it is spaghetti and meatballs just fill up the plate and enjoy, do not forget the bread and butter.  What if dinner is Hamburger, french fryes and a milk shake?  Make sure you get your veggies.

Now here is "the plan".  3/6th  of your plate should be fruits and vegetables.  2/6th's should be your protein source.  The last bit is for desert, I would rather use another plate.
